Day By Day planning

  • 4 pm Arrival in Bugliaga, check in to our chalet.

    Aperitif and Dinner.

After dinner you will receive the general explanation of the trip.

  • After breakfast, we get ready for a first hike and move a village further towards Trasquera, where you get an intro on mushroom and plant picking.

We are out for a whole day, picking some mushrooms and having lunch along the way with ingredients found from nature.

In the afternoon we make our way through the mountain forests towards the Chalet, where we have a nice dinner together in the evening.

  • After breakfast, we head toward San Domenico, where we hike to the summit to cook with our freshly found ingredients. We spend a whole day on the trail, ending with a fresh splash in the mountain water.

Throughout the day we are looking for mushrooms and plants and return to the chalet in the evening with a full catch, where a delicious meal awaits you.

  • After two intense hiking days, it is a physically calmer day and in the morning we visit a natural phenomenon, “The Orridi di Uriezzo” (Uriezzo Gorge) in the heart of the Antigorio Valley. A tangible evidence of the erosive effect of ancient glaciers and of the water that flowed beneath them, over thousands of years in the Ossola Valley plain.

After this we have lunch in a traditional northern Italian restaurant, where the real locals still come to eat.

In the afternoon, we head to a (secret) lake high in the mountains, where we visit one of Italy's most remote cheese makers. Along the way, we will take in the necessary edible mushrooms and wild edible plants.

  • Today we take a last big trek to the top and go high into the mountains with beautiful views. We have lunch along the way with our catch from the forests and end the day with a delicious dinner made by the owners and farmers of the area.

  • After breakfast, we look back at a beautiful week, say goodbye and leave for home!
