About Forest To Plate

forest to plate

Forest To Plate is a Belgium (Europe)-based organization. While English is used for most of our activities, the majority of our guides are proficient in Dutch and French.

FOREST TO PLATE

The story of Forest To Plate began in 2015 when forager and herbalist Ben Brumagne traveled the world in search of edible wild plants, their secrets, and history. After years of study and encounters, Ben wanted to share his wonder with others. Meanwhile, he has already taken countless people into nature, many of whom have become independent foragers.

Meanwhile, Forest To Plate has grown into a well-known collective of enthusiasts who prefer to spend their time in and with nature. We aim to inspire people from all backgrounds to discover the nature around them with us. By gaining knowledge of what the forest offers, including culinary aspects, we aim to contribute to a new wave that views our essential green environment with respect and admiration.

We organize numerous events and travels, including day activities introducing edible wild plants and outdoor cooking, as well as multi-day hikes both domestically and internationally. Forest to Plate would not exist without our focus on education. All our knowledge is compiled in an extensive year-long course on edible wild plants, offered both physically and online.

We are here to re-open your eyes, and show you the information we have lost over the past thousands of years. Join us on an adventure of a lifetime.
