8-day trekking Tafraoute, Morocco
The landscape around Tafraoute is characterized by almond and argan trees and pink granite rocks. The flora is very diverse. Impressive gorges, the ascent of Djebel Lekst, and the introduction to typical villages are the highlights of this trip. The terrain does require good physical condition.
This immersive adventure offers stunning landscpaes, cultural encounters, and the opportunity to explore the heart of Morocco’s mountain and desert region.
During this trip, your guide will introduce you to the wild and edible plants found in the region. You will learn about the culinary, medicinal, and nutritional benefits of various plants growing naturally in the area. Some experiences may involve identifying these plants, collecting them, and even cooking or tasting them as part of your adventure.

A highly diverse program, all outdoors. This is a hiking trip where we camp and sleep at local family stays.
An exploratory journey through local flora, suitable for both beginners and advanced participants.
You don’t need to cary your backpack, only a daypack.
Local guide: English and French language.Camping under the stars.
Accommodation: Along the road, all accommodation is taken care of. You don’t need to bring anything except for a sleeping bag.Culinary aspect: adventurous and flavorful food, sourced locally. We have a catered service each day.
A compact travel group: a good atmosphere and personal interaction. We limit each group to 14 participants. Minimum age for this trip is 18+.
Disconnection: we request minimizing the use of smartphones to an absolute minimum.

Appropriate clothing, good hiking shoes. Packing list will be shared after payment.Good physical condition: ability to walk 20 km with a daypack.
Level: average 6 to 7 hours of walking per day on rugged terrain and/or well-maintained mule paths – 700 to 1000 meters of elevation gain per day. -

Day by day planning

Flight to Agadir (or Marrakech). Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel, breakfast included; Exploration of the city.

Depart for Aït Moussa (120 km), passing through charming villages and vast argan tree plantations. Your adventure begins in Aït Lhaj, surrounded by fields and argan trees, with stunning views over the palm groves of Aït Moussa. Enjoy a picnic under the trees, followed by an afternoon walk through the enchanting palm oasis.

Hike through the valley of Angrf, climbing towards Timzguida (520m) and the village of Aghrighe. Descend into the gorges, then explore the Targa n’Touchka oasis with its breathtaking views.

Discover the sacred springs of Targa n’Touchka before climbing to the valley of Imzi, filled with almond trees. Enjoy a local tea visit before camping for the night.

Trek through the Tagdichte gorges and ascend to the Tikki summit (1300m). Enjoy stunning views and explore ancient stairways from tribal wars. Continue to the summit of Tizi n’Tigout (1500m) and camp at the foot of Djebel Lekst.

Climb the rugged slopes of Djebel Lekst (2259m), with panoramic views of the High Atlas, Siroua, and Tafraoute. Descend to the village of Anamer and camp amongst the palm trees.

Explore Tafraoute, a picturesque mountain town, before returning to Agadir (or Marrakech).
